Week 9 Post

I love this plan for dealing with that overwhelm feeling: If the objective seems overwhelming or you are unsure of where to start, break it down using the Vision, Strategies, Projects, Tactics (VSPT) framework: Vision: This is your objective – delivering the letter to Garcia. Strategies: What are the ways you could achieve this objective? Sometimes there will be many strategies to choose from, other times only one. For Rowan, there was only one strategy: hand-deliver it. Today, other options might be to deliver the message by phone or by e-mail. Projects: What big things need to get done to accomplish the objective? Create a series of major milestones. For example: Sail to Cuba, trek through the forest, find Garcia, plot a course back home. Tactics: What do I need to do today to make progress on a project? Make a checklist: Hire a boat crew, find a guide for the trek, arrange for provisions, buy mosquito netting. Quickly start on these tasks, and before you know it, you will be executing.

This week I participated in a freezer meal food prep class with a company called Citrus Pear. I loved it. It made me think that this is something I could see myself doing. I love to cook, create recipes and organize. This class was very organized and needed to be in order to help 20 women make 20 or more freezer meals in one hour. The ingredients are paid for by the customer. The food is bought in bulk and distributed. The customer does most of the chopping and the instructors add a few spices. This is something I want to research more and see if I can start my own.

Week 1 Journal

September 21, 2019 First Journal Post for Entrepreneur Class. It feels a little strange to create a journal that will be read by more than just myself. I am taking this class because I am curious about what it takes to start a business. I plan to get a master's degree in school counseling but I would like to create workshops for teens. I want to create a place where they would feel safe to open up to each other and teach each other.  Lessons I learned What I learned this week. It is important to find what I am good at doing. I need to learn what my gifts are and focus on those when creating a business. In "Living Life as an Entrepreneur Hero" Jeff Sanderfer says if you don't know your gift, ask a friend. Week 2 Journal
